According to an article in the January 29, 2010 edition of the Chicago Tribune, many documents, including intact W-2s, were found in the streets of Des Plaines, Illinois, creating a serious risk of identity theft for local residents. The documents, which could not be linked with a specific destruction company, had come from several local businesses, including the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
